I started by reading the book and creating mood boards to visualize its themes. Since the story is deeply connected to India, I drew my color palette from the Indian flag—using saffron, white, green, and navy blue to reflect courage, peace, growth, and justice. The boards also included textures, and patterns inspired by Indian culture, ensuring a cohesive and meaningful design.

After finalizing the mood boards, I translated each one into a series of distinct cover designs. To refine the concept further, I began by sketching a rough draft based on the first mood board, ensuring the visual direction aligned with the book’s core themes.

After finalizing the cover designs, I printed and displayed them during our class critique. Ultimately, I selected the bold comic-style adaptation – not only for its daring visual impact but because the timeless quality of comic art perfectly mirrors the enduring themes at the heart of the story.

To enhance each chapter's introduction, I designed comic-style synopses while intentionally obscuring character faces - preserving readers' ability to imagine the characters for themselves.
